2020 has presented the world with unprecedented challenges which have affected us all in so many ways. We have had to be more resilient than ever before, we’ve had to show more care and compassion for those around us and COPA has not lost sight of our mission to provide high standards of education for the students attending the schools in La Hoya and Bombita. A mission that we achieve thanks to the support of our amazing friends and sponsors.
At the current time all schools in the Dominican Republic remain closed and children continue their classes via distance learning on radio and television. Each grade is assigned a TV channel and classes running from 9 to 12 noon and 3 to 6pm. Students use a notebook for their work that was provided by the government, and every week parents visit the schools where teachers mark the work and provide assignments for the following week.
We have continued to hold international meetings online with La Fundación, US and UK committees taking part.
This Christmas we wish you love and peace and lets pray that 2021 brings us all a year united in education, health and happiness.
